I am a Senior at Duke University double majoring in Psychology and Neuroscience. I am from Chapel Hill, NC, but have moved around to different countries since I was little. I lived in El Salvador for 4 years and can speak Spanish fluently (from it comes my love for learning languages!). I am currently conducting an independent study on how the anonymous peer support textline, DukeLine, impacts the various aspects of college students’ mental health: 1) levels of depressive symptoms, 2) meaning and purpose, 3) and social support key to mental health recovery. On campus, I am an administrative assistant at the Duke Lupus Registry, and am involved with the Psychology Majors Union and GANO (Gente Aprendiendo para Nuevas Oportunidades). In my free time, I love to sing, make music and play the guitar.
